Stocking up for the Holidays

As the days turn to the cool mornings of fall, market vendors like myself, prepare for the holiday market season. I participate in a few pop-up markets per month and as I look back on the past year, I want to repeat some successes. One of my best-sellers of my 2022 market season, was the first-ever 2023

Cary Watercolor Calendar.

Holiday Items

This year, I got started early on my calendar to have plenty of them available in advance of Black Friday. The 2024 calendar is made using art that I painted throughout this past year. About half of images were done "En Plein Air". Many scenes depicted have special meaning for Cary-ites. Once in a Blue Moon Bakery is included, and that business will soon be moving, before the current building is torn down. Another image shows Cary at night, a new theme that is new in my watercolor practice. You can buy your own here on my website.

Cardinals are another popular image that I have painted for several years. They hold special meaning for many people- as well as being the state bird, and have become the symbol of Cary's own Downtown Park. I am an avid bird watcher and enjoy the many varieties of birds we have right here in the Piedmont of North carolina. At my pop-up booth I usually have at leaset a half dozen bird paitings hanging. This year I have printed holiday notecards as some 12" x 12" prints of the best of the bunch.

I have a mixed set of 5 cards, or sets of 1 image. All are available here on my website.

I will be at the following pop-up markets leading up to Christmas:

Cary Downtown Farmers Market- In the Parking Lot of the Perfect Piece, Downtown Cary

Saturday October 28 from 8am- noon

Saturday, November 11 from 9am- noon

Saturday, Dec 2 from 9am- noon

Art-N-Soul Market at Waverly Place, Waverly Place, 302 Colonades Way, Cary

Saturday, November 18, noon- 4pm

Downtown Cary Food & Flea, Fidelity Bank Plaza, Downtown Cary

Sunday, November 12, noon- 4pm

Come by to any of these markets and stop by to say hi. There is always great music and other crafters selling amazing things. Get your holiday shopping done by shopping locally made.
